There are many things that youth groups could do. Here a few to consider. If
you have suggestions for others, please let us know.
- Find schools, churches, libraries, businesses, etc. that would like a
Peace Pole.
- Make a cardboard Peace Pole. Go to www.pmlib.org/peace and see
the video on the right side of the page for instructions.
- Earn a $30 rebate/pole installed and reported on as indicated
on application form
- Volunteering to help planting of an outdoor Peace Pole
- Helping to plan a suitable dedication ceremony
- Provide music, poetry, songs or
speak at the dedication ceremony
- Show Peace Poles at various events
- Take pictures or videos at dedication events
- Construct bases for indoor poles
- Design peace messages for use on indoor bases
- Make cloth sleeves to protect Peace Poles being transported to and
from events.
- Make a time capsule for insertion inside your peace pole.
- Decorate your peace pole with additional peace symbols or words of
your own.
- Purchase a kit
($105) with blank 6' pole, materials for a base and transparencies
to project languages on pole for painting the message "May Peace Prevail
on Earth" in four or eight languages, using different colors and other
symbols as desired to create a unique Peace Pole.
- Plan and organize a major dedication ceremony involving other youth,
peace, and social service groups to create an event which would attract coverage
by local press, TV and radio stations. This would be a challenge
and a very educational experience.
- Put together
sign
poles which describe the purpose and history of
Peace Poles (plaques and materials can be supplied)
- Seek sites that need a
sign
pole
installed at existing Peace Pole
Sites.
- Have a Peace Pole
Party
