Peace Pole Presented to Founders of Tibetan Home of Hope – Nyack NY
On March 29th Deborah Moldow, WPPS Representative to the United Nations, presented a Peace Pole to Tashi Dolma and Tashi Rabten, founders of the Tibetan Home of Hope for abandoned children in Amdo, Tibet. The Tibetan Home of Hope (http://www.tibetanhomeofhope.org/) is unique in that it not only shelters the children and assures their education, but it also teaches them their Tibetan culture. Deborah spoke about how this beautiful culture based on wisdom and compassion – which was instrumental in setting her on her spiritual path – is so needed for today’s emerging culture of peace.
The Tibetan Home of Hope had already purchased a full-sized Peace Pole to grace their base in Valley Cottage, NY. The Peace Pole shared the stage with young people who were given certificates for their acts of compassion by Tashi Dolma and Tashi Rabten, along with comedian Johnny Lambert, The Roues Brothers band and singer Mark Farre.
The occasion was a beautiful event at the Nyack Center in Nyack, NY that raised money to sponsor the children and to build them a playing field at the home. The hall was filled with loving, conscious supporters who very much appreciated the Peace Pole and Tashi Dolma received the honor with great emotion.
May Peace Prevail in Tibet!
