A vigil held at The World Peace Sanctuary in Wassaic, NY was an urgent "call to peace" for the victims of the Orlando, Florida shooting. USA

On Friday, June 18, 2016, staff of The World Peace Prayer Society (WPPS), along with concerned and caring community members, gathered in honor of each person who surrendered their life during the Orlando mass shooting, leaving behind loved ones and a nation in mourning.

The name and age of each of the 49 victims was announced and repeated together in unison as we made our way up the Peace Path, pausing at each Peace Pole, sending heartfelt wishes to each of the 193 UN members states.

The group closed each statement by announcing the universal peace message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth.”

We thank each and every person for joining us.
