Peace Messages from Ise Matsuri, JAPAN
A Japanese WPPS member, Ms. Mitsuko Moroto and her friends have a WPPS booth at Ise Matsuri-( Matsuri is the Japanese word for “Festival”) every year to collect peace messages.
It’s been going on more than 15 years.
This year, they collected 96 peace messages for WPPS headquarters in New York (USA) and 345 messages to HIroshima Peace Memorial museum; a total of 441 messages were collected.
The participants were happy to receive a peace doll bookmark after they wrote their peace messages.
Year after year, there has been an increase with international visitors attending the Festival.
The Ise Matsuri is to celebrate the annual event in Ise shrine, which is the most significant shrine of the Shinto.
