Walkway Over The Hudson Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Peace Pole. Highland, NY
The Walkway over the Hudson celebrated it’s 10th anniversary this year with a festival and Peace Pole showcase.
The event was held on October 5th and 6th of 2019 to mark the walkways 10th Anniversary of reopening. The Bridge was originally opened in 1889 as the Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge to transport western raw materials to eastern industrial centers. Though it was destroyed by fire in 1974, The bridge was brought back by the Dyson group and many other supporters in Dutchess County in 2009 for pedestrians to enjoy.
A wonderful time was had by all with vendors and beautiful weather. May the Walkway bring Peace to it’s travelers for many years to come.
May Peace Prevail On Earth.
