The Fourth annual World Unity Week was organized by over 20 partner organizations including Unity Earth, The Sine Network, Purpose Earth, the United Religions Initiative.

May Peace Prevail On Earth stewarded the May Peace Prevail On Earth Convergence Room where online zoom programs were hosted throughout the week.

The daily A Call To Peace was a collaboration between 7 sister organizations including the Peace School, One Humanity Institute, Global Silent Minute, United Religions Initiative, JoyFuel and Pathways To Peace.

We have resumed the in-person Guided Sound Meditation workshop at The World Peace Sanctuary.

It was extraordinary!

Healing with “sound” is believed to date back to very ancient times.

Sound, with its vibration frequency, has been known to have a positive effect on our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

It’s what people are especially desiring these days.   People are expressing a need to gather, to connect with one another, and to decompress, from the world’s challenges.  

We live in an energy-based universe, scientifically validated, as such.  Therefore, the vibration, the frequencies, emitted from electronic devices, and the news about world events, have had a tremendous impact on the quality of life, “for all life on earth” to include mother earth, whether we realize it or not.

This unique sound meditation is profound in itself, but Cristina Reyes-Schleifer adds another layer.

Cristina guides you to a place of relaxation, to release anxiety and worry, to quiet the “monkey chatter” in our minds, by providing breathing techniques.  She also walks you through a step-by-step visualization to help you realize your potential to self-relaxation.

Connection to Nature Retreat was created because we believe that it is vital to our overall well-being to connect with nature and mother earth.

It was a day filled with outdoor activities as we embraced nature in all it’s beauty on the beautiful natural landscape of The World Peace Sanctuary grounds.

It was also the memorial of September 11^th—20 years later.  In honor of all the people involved, we participated in a special tribute by having a heartfelt ceremony with the prayers that were offered 20 years ago.  

We also, celebrated the International Day of Peace by having a World Peace Prayer Ceremony as it celebrated on September 21^st, each year.

It was a chockful day filled with laughter & joy and prayers & gratitude.

It was a day filled with sunshine, cool air and lots of love.  

Michael “Pondhawk” open the morning with a guided meditative workshop, through the Sacred Grove that led to the Wisdom Trail.

Ann Marie Robustelli led the World Peace Prayer Ceremony, in which she shared the roll of voice leader with Cristina Reyes and in unison they closed with the Flags of One Family, with founder, Linda DeHart.

Gigi Oppenheimer of White Lotus Grace-encouraged everyone to follow her into the Sacred Grove where she offered a workshop, “Dancing to Nature.”  

We shared a meal and laughter, and stories and were just so grateful to be able to spend time with one another safely outdoors.

To close the day—we danced, sang and played instruments as we danced, rattled and drummed around the fire pit.

It was such a delightful day.

Today marks the movement’s achievement of 3,500 Classic White Peace Poles planted globally with the environmental impact of 35,000 trees planted too.

This decade long partnership has allowed ten trees to be planted on the African Continent for every single Classic White Peace Pole crafted at our Sanctuary in Wassaic, NY. An innovative move on Jim’s part, making sure to help the environment as well as spreading the global message of Peace.

This Peace Pole pictured above is being gifted to Wavy Gravy and Jah Romney along with their incredible staff at Camp Winnarainbow in California. Wavy has devoted his life to creative activism on behalf of peace, justice and good humor and has helped May Peace Prevail On Earth, with Jim Personally, lead many World Peace Flag Ceremonies at the Gathering of the Vibes Music Festivals. Wavy and Jah created and have led the diverse and inclusive Camp Winnarainbow for forty-five years providing a place for young people to thrive, learn and feel. A place where they continue to advocate for a peaceful, sustainable and harmonious world.

This 3,500th Classic White Peace Pole has the Message May Peace Prevail on Earth adorning it’s 4 sides in Chinook Wawa, an Indigenous language spoken from Northern California to Alaska, English, Japanese, Persian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tibetan and Vietnamese. 

This is Peaceful Sustainability in action.

A few of the Sanctuary neighbors and staff members came together to bless

the Wisdom Trail that was newly installed by Michael Guldbrandsen. Annmarie Robustelli, Michael Mager and Tonia Shoumatoff were in attendance for the blessed event.

The trail has been described as simply “magical” by onlookers.

The Grand Opening is scheduled to take place on October 24th,

at 10:00 am, Please come and join in the festivities.

The USA Prayer Ceremony began with everyone walking in a procession to the beat of the drum,  then circling around a Peace Pole which led to the center with another Peace Pole which included the message, “May Peace be in The United States of America.”

Cristina Reyes  read aloud a beautiful excerpt from the book Matrix Meditations, by Victoria Daniels and Kooch N. Daniels.

  The USA ceremony began with a Native American invocation, giving gratitude to the four directions, by Tonia Shoumatoff.

Ann Marie Robustelli,  led the USA  prayer ceremony.

Special prayers were offered to the State and Government officials in Washington, DC.

The World Peace Sanctuary has offered Hatha Yoga classes for eight years.

Classes are held on Monday afternoons, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., instructed by Maria Polhemus; a Yogini with over 30 years of experience.

New participants are welcome, previous yoga experience is not required.

Beginning a Hatha Yoga Practice is a great way to begin the New Year!

Wednesday January 8th, 2020 at the World Peace Sanctuary we held our first evening meditation of the new decade. It took place from 7:00-8:00 p.m.  Where all could relax, meditate, and enjoy the healing effects of sound.

The new year opened with the intention To approach life “joyfully” and dedicate ourselves to live a purposeful life. Also meditated upon, to open our hearts unselfishly so that we can experience love, compassion and tolerance.

During the Flag Ceremony every student had a chance to carry a flag from one of the nations on our planet and shout “May Peace Prevail On Earth”

The students learned about the importance of the time we are living in, how every decision each of us makes has an impact on our environment. They were also taught tangible actions to create a more sustainable future and the importance of peace on our planet.

This wonderful school nestled in the Litchfield Hills teaches students ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade. Having been in operation since the early 1800’s, the Booth Free School strives to “develop engaged citizens”, “promote respect and acceptance of diverse ideas” and “recognize one’s potential and individual responsibility in a global society”. 

The School will be planting a Peace Pole on their campus in the Spring.

Shamanic Plant Medicine Journey, was a Saturday weekend class. 

The Eastern Red Cedar has many special adaptations. One such adaptation is that it secretes an oil, like the Black Spruce, that insulates it from the extreme colds.

The wood, berries and leaves are used for medicine. People take Eastern red cedar for cough, bronchitis, joint pain (rheumatism)

Singing our remedies into Being and connecting with the Earth in a conscious way is the premise behind this healing.
