May 16th, 2023

We received an honorary visit from Mr. Marcial Jesus from Valparaiso, Chile at the Goi Peace Foundation/ May Peace Prevail on Earth International office. Marcial is practicing and teaching Aikido in his country. My colleague Taku, Takuhiro Uesugi, in the Fuji area joined and welcomed him together. They have Aikido in common and it was Marcial’s Aikido master who sent Taku an email and requested to meet Marcial.

My other colleague Tatsuru Tatsuru Nakayama also joined online and he helped us with the Spanish interpretation. He is an Aikido practitioner, too!

Marcial talked about his passion for Aikido and teaching the culture and spirit of Japan through Aikido.  Wow!

He also shared the Peace Pole planting event in November which Taku joined online. The location was the cultural center in Valparaiso, a prison during Pinochet’s dictatorship.

Many innocent people were killed, missing, and imprisoned for over 30 years. The local people want to keep the memory of this sad history and Marcial and his group decided to plant a Peace Pole as a memorial monument.   They prayed together sincerely for peace in the future in Valparaiso and Chile.

Marcial also talked about the native Chilean called “Mapuche” that he wants to make peace with the Mapuche people. He was sad over the fact that the Mapuche people do like the Chilean people because they took the legacy of Mapuche throughout the history.  He also had a Mapuche friend when he was very young, so that is another reason he wants to make peace with the Mapuche people.  We heard that Valparaiso, a famous picturesque, beautiful city has a big favela and Marcial worries himself about it. He is involved in a community project.

Marcial brought us a famous Chilean wine Casillero des Diablo, a beautiful photobook of Chile, nice postcards of Valparaiso, and a special bookmark which he made, and his girlfriend wrapped, especially.  The bookmark is written in Mapuche, Spanish, and English, and written are the words,  “May Peace Prevail On Earth” on each one.

We all had a very nice conversation and enjoyed the meeting.     We look forward to having future collaboration and keeping in touch.

On the 9th of April, 2022, Mrs Masami Saionji, the Chairperson of ‘May Peace Prevail on Earth International’, was presented with an award for Excellence and Leadership for  her outstanding activity for Peace in the world at the House of Lords (Houses of Parliament, Westminster) in London.  Caroline Uchima was honoured to accept the award on behalf of Masami Sensei and the Goi Group.

Caroline’s speech on behalf of May Peace Prevail On Earth International
and Masami Sensei

MPPOE International has had a long connection with Euroknowledge.  In 2007, Fumi attended an event in Washington DC making a strong connection with the organisers, and in 2018, Fumi, Nicole, Patrick and Masami Sensei attended an event in Paris to hold a flag ceremony.

Award winners 2022

This event in London was a great opportunity to bring the vibration of Peace and Divine Light into this place of historical political power.

The members of the Goi Group gladly supported us by sending prayers and INs of focus and light, and through the work of the Guardian Deities and Guardian Spirits of all of the prayer members, the Divine Presence was anchored in the heart of London’s political Centre. Thank you!

We brought a traveling peace pole, and this caught the attention of many of the people we were destined to meet.

On arrival at reception, a lady (Kirsten Engvig, founder and CEO of Women’s International Networking) came up to us, pointed at the peace pole and said ‘I was just talking about this!’

With Kristin Engvig (Founder of WIN)

Apparently, someone had admired her pearl necklace, and she was telling them about an amazing lady in Japan who had given it to her, when she noticed Masami Sensei’s profile in the conference brochure, and was just saying, ‘That is her!’, when the next thing she noticed was the peace pole.  She was so happy and delighted to make the connection, and in her 2-minute award acceptance speech, she talked about this synchronicity.

The peace pole caused a lot of interest, mainly among the women award recipients, and we were able to present them with desk top peace poles.

We had been invited, at the last minute, to hold a short flag ceremony, and had prepared the small postcard size cards for this.  Unfortunately this did not happen, mainly because the panel discussion went way over time, and everything was rushed after that.

We were able to make good connections with some very interesting and inspiring people and wait to see how this unfolds into the future.

All through the event, I was aware of, and could feel all the prayers and light coming through our physical vessels from all over the world.  We had been warned ‘to be flexible around the programme!’, and that things might not pan out as we thought, and this was exactly what happened.  However, I was filled with conviction that we were in the right place at the right time, and we would meet the right people.  We also had a laugh amongst ourselves and a really fun day.

‘All is perfect and complete.  Nothing is lacking.  Perfectly accomplished.  Daijojyu’

Infinite gratitude and love for all the collaboration in raising the consciousness of humanity.

The Divinity of Humanity is reawakened

I remembered Mr. Mario Fungo, the Peace Representative from the Philippines, when I participated online in the first Global Peace Pole Day held on November 22, 2020; which was Mr. Masahisa Goi’s birthday. He contributed to world peace activities for more than 30 years, planted many Peace Poles, and passed away on the 22nd of March, 2020. I thought, “If he were still alive, how happy and proud he would have been to participate in this day! As one who had been in contact with Mario for more than 20 years, and had nurtured our friendship as soul mates, I felt the urge to express my gratitude for the activities with him.

Mario loved the Peace Pole so much. As far as I know, he has helped build more than 70 peace poles all over the Philippines, and I sent 45 of them from Japan. I myself visited the area five times and worked with many people to erect peace poles and hold peace ceremonies.

I was particularly impressed by the Peace Pole planting during the war memorial service held in Municipality of Bauan, Province of Batangas. I received an article in English about the massacre of Filipino civilians by the Japanese military at the end of World War II. My heart ached as I learned for the first time that more than 100,000 people had been killed in Manila alone, and hundreds of churchgoers in Bauan had lost their lives. I left for the Philippines alone with a heavy heart.

Mario has been building a network with many people through peace activities, and this Peace Pole was requested by a non-profit organization that wishes to transcend the pain of war and promote friendship between the Philippines and Japan. More than 300 villagers participated in the mass, followed by a requiem prayer ceremony, erection of the peace pole, and I gave a speech. Planting the peace pole with the strong determination for peace and the role of requiem had a really deep meaning. When I developed the photos, I found many orbs and mandalas (what looked like mandalas) in the air. Even now, a memorial service is held every year, and the peace pole is working as a symbol for peace.

On the grounds of a Catholic church, a Peace Pole was erected over the un-exploded bombs that the Japanese left in the Philippines. The students performed a dance with the message, “Let’s learn from war and keep the peace” while joining hands to sing a song of peace.
Mario had been interacted with friends who believe in different religions, such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and the Baha’i Faith, and to bring people together in a sense of peace that transcends differences and nurtures the youth. I always found it wonderful to see the tolerance and cheerfulness of people expressing peace with dancing and singing.

At the kidney hospital, high schools and universities, Mario’s network was demonstrated by the planting of a peace pole. Every year, we held a Peace Ceremony and Peace Walk in conjunction with the UN Peace Day. I hope that people will continue to do so after Mario’s passing.

As a Peace Rep, Mario was always very active. He was very practical and showed his appreciation for plants and the earth by planting trees, for example. I also worked with him to teach the children about the importance of nature by planting trees and hiking with them. The peace pole that we built with the sisters who practice natural farming was also a result of Mario’s interaction, and they were grateful.

Continuity is power and treasure! I am deeply grateful to Mario for spreading the May Peace Prevail On Earth message throughout the Philippines, and continuing to sow the seeds of the importance of praying and practicing peace among many people, especially the youth. He is a friendly and warm person who has encouraged, helped and loved many people, and has been encouraged, helped and loved by many people in his life.

When Mario was hospitalized in March of 2020, the Philippines was already experiencing the Corona Virus. His niece Norma, who loved and respected Mario like a father, took the lead in taking care of him, until he departed on the 22nd. She gave birth to her fourth child, a boy, on May 3. His name is Shinjiro Mario. He seems to be a reincarnation of Mario-san. When I first met Norma, she was a high school student, and now she is a mother of four. It’s as if Mario is telling me, “Take care of them!

May peace be in the Philippines, May Peace Prevail on Earth. Mario! Thank you for your support from heaven.

A Peace Pole was planted in the Democratic Republic of Congo or DRC. A venture for only the brave to attempt, all began with a bond lasting over 20 years. In the words of those involved in such a wonderful display of Peace are the events of this very special Peace Pole.

Mitsuko Moroto of GOI Peace Foundation has shared a Peace Pole planting report from Father Pascal from the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Father Pascal visited Japan with the guide of our member Mitsuko Moroto san last November.

Mitsuko Moroto shared with us the events leading up to the Peace Pole planting. He stated, “Father Pascal was an essay contest entrant 20 years ago for the International Youth Essay Contest hosted by The Goi Peace Foundation.  He has been communicating with Moroto san from time to time.  He planted a Peace Pole in his country some ten years ago.  He had to travel 2000 km to receive the Peace Pole from Japan to the capital city risking his life and he made it.”

DRC is rich in mineral resources, golds, diamonds, rare metals for computers and etc., and tragically extremely dangerous country in our world to live and survive.  So many armed violent groups including religious extremist attacking people, killing, raping, extortion, kidnapping, enforcing child soldiers and etc. like a nightmare.

Crossing 2000 km has a huge risk to be attacked and killed.  Road is bumpy and cars can get in trouble easily under that kind of condition.  They did it and managed to plant a Peace Pole.

This time, Father Pascal brought the plaques for the Peace Pole from Japan and made the Peace Pole locally.  His fervent wish for peace pushed him to plant it at OICHA city, where a majority of the crimes are being committed.

This is where the Peace Pole would be most needed.  Father Pascal is a very calm and soft-spoken person, but as we can see also has an unbelievably strong heart.”

Father Pascal put his words into writing to discuss his venture, bearing in mind English not being his first language, he eloquently and vividly described the days events.

Father Pascal wrote:

“I’m happy to report you about the Ceremony we held yesterday 22nd January at OICHA City on 12:45 p.m. Indeed, OICHA City is strategical. Violence, killings, kidnappings…are frequent in the area of OICHA from 2014 till now. At the same moment we were planting our Peace pole there was assault and people were killed, but we left the place safely. “

“We planted our Peace Pole at MABALAKO Secondary School of OICHA. The same school is used too as dormitories of internally displaced persons. You can see them in the pictures. “

“After the ceremony we visited them and helped them with some pieces of soap and salt. We helped pupils too with pencils I brought from Japan (gifts of Ms. KIMURA).”

“They were very happy and grateful when I told them that Japanese people and other people around the world are wishing peace to people of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Especially to the people of OICHA and BENI (people who are living surroundings OICHA and BENI). They are really suffering and living in bad conditions. Some villages are left by people. “

“They need our prayers; our message was a comfort and consolation for them.”

May peace prevail on Earth
Puisse la paix régner dans le monde
Amani na iwepo duniani
Embolere ivye ehosihosi
Que la paix soit en République Démocratique du Congo

 Father Muhindo Mapendo Kasongo Pascal

Thank you to Father Muhindo Mapendo Kasongo Pascal as well as Mitsuko Moroto. Working together to create this momentous occasion, then reporting for us to hear of it. May Peace Prevail On Earth.

There is a special Cafe “Kawasaki-gura” In Ise City, Tokyo. This is a very significant area in Japan where two shinto shrines are located.  One of them is considered the most sacred shrine in Japan and is dedicated to Shinto’s most important god, the Sun Goddess Amaterasu. Here in this sacred place there were one of a kind artwork from children from all around the world on displayed. Through May Peace Prevail On Earth, International and The Goi Peace Foundation; Peace Pals International’s winning submissions were available to view from September 17th to October 1st 2019.

The owner is a friend and liked the children’s paintings as well as the contest. The art was displayed at the entrance of the cafe and many local people spoke of how much they really loved them. Everyone was so impressed by the skills of the artists, as well as the design.

First Place winner Submission of “Living Peace” by Sophia G. of Mexico

Peace Pals International holds an International Art Competition annually for youth. Each year is a different theme of Peace. This last year was “Living Peace”. The upcoming competition is going to be very special as it is extended to coincide with the Olympics in Japan. The theme will be “Sports and Peace”.

Everyone who entered this popular Cafe to those walking along the street were so taken with the intentions of the images portrayed. Many remarked, “I cannot believe their ages since they are all so good”. The Competition is from 5 to 15 in age groups, and come from all around the world. Others remarked “I even felt something spiritual from the art”, which is common when you see the love and dedication these young artists put forth.

The cafe has an old fashioned feel of the 1950s or 1960s in their interior. “Gura” means storage and it shows the history of success of the business by merchants in old times. There are some art exhibitions from time to time.  Jazz players have gig occasionally.  So it has lots of culture and just a feeling in the air. It is a very popular Coffee Cafe and many Coffee fans gather here.

A very special thank you to Mitsuko Moroto for sharing this very special story with us.

Pope Francis will be visiting Japan from November 23-26th. Prior to His Holiness’ visit, May Peace Prevail On Earth International (MPPOE, INT)/The Goi Peace Foundaton in Japan gave the gift of a Peace Pole on October 16th, 2019. This gift was presented by MPPOE, Int. President Mr. Hiroo Saionji to ArchBishop Joseph Chennoth for The Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Archbishop Chennoth was happy to hear about the role of a Peace Pole and how they are planted worldwide. To his delight including the Vatican Garden, which was gifted to Pope John Paul II in May of 1986.

It was noted how kind and warm Archbishop’s reception of Mr. Saionji was, creating a welcoming and pleasant meeting. Mr. Saionji, known for his extensive Peace work, explained how May Peace Prevail On Earth, International has a relationship with Interfaith Activities. Working with the United Nations, he showed a brochure from the 2013 UN Interfaith Harmony Week.

This Peace Pole, that was crafted specifically for Pope Francis, was adorned with the languages of Italian, Spanish, English and Japanese. These were carefully chosen as Pope Francis is from Argentina, the first Pope from the Americas, but took his Papal title from St Francis of Asisi in Italy.

Thank you to Archbishop Chennoth as well as Mr. Hiroo Saionji with the Goi Peace Foundation for allowing us to be part of this very special day.
