Peace Pole Re-Dedication at "My Second Home"-June 27, 2008
June 27, 2008 marked the annual Peace Pole re-dedication at the intergenerational daycare center called Mount Kisco Daycare/My Second Home in Mount Kisco, NY. Although a light drizzle drove the festivities indoors, participants from toddlers carrying flags to seniors reading inspirational quotes all enjoyed the focus on peace.
WPPS UN Representative Deborah Moldow asked everyone to call out the name of their country of origin, which sparked great enthusiasm. She then taught the youngsters the meaning of “May Peace Prevail On Earth” (“prevail” means “win”!), and led the group in sending the prayer from their hearts to their families, the community and the whole world. All joined in singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth and Let It Begin With Me.”
Later, Deborah offered a concert of Broadway songs in honor of her mother’s 91st birthday.
