Holland Patent, NY Peace Pole-September 24, 2008

Plans had been underway a year ago, to have a Peace Pole planted in our village park. Last night a troop of 20 Boy Scouts dug a four foot hole to accommodate the Peace Pole.

The pole is crafted from locally grown larch, and has 8 sides. We have 8 plates already, and will be adding more over the years. The plates will be installed before winter, and a big dedication will be planned for spring.

This process is ongoing. It has opened the eyes of a very Republican, traditional community to the mission of The World Peace Prayer Society, and its message May Peace Prevail On Earth. Our ecumenical, community group will keep you informed.
