Japanese Peace Delegates plant Peace Pole in Tasmania, Australia-November 26, 2008
A group, comprised of 13 Japanese peace delegates traveled to Tasmania, Australia to plant a Peace Pole at Wind Song Inn.
On Wednesday, November 26th everyone present wrote special prayers that were placed in a time capsule which was planted alongside the Peace Pole. One visitor had written 300 sets of 7 prayers on small pieces of paper that were also placed within the capsule.
Prior to the planting, the attendees were greeted with a traditional Aboriginal welcome song, “Welcome to Country” by Tianji Brown, a young Tasmanian Aboriginal, who lives in the area.
Everyone then assisted in some way to ensure that the Peace Pole was well planted and that the beautiful message “May Peace Prevail On Earth” would radiate from Wind Song to all its visitors.
As with all significant events, the evening ended with a festive celebration, to include:
An Aussie barbecue, music, singing, dancing and lots of laughter! Jane and Tom Teniswood
