Community Peace Day Clean up-Amenia, NY-USA
April 28th, 2012
Peace is about unity in community to care for our planet, and all the precious elements it contains to sustain life: water, air, earth and plants!
On Saturday, April 28th, Jim Dugan of the World Peace Prayer Society joined other volunteers with Amenia’s Annual Clean Up Day. The World Peace Sanctuary, home of the World Peace Prayer Society, is located in Wassaic, NY which is a Hamlet of the Town of Amenia. The Sanctuary has participated in many of these local Clean Up Days providing hands on trash removal on local roads and the use of the Sanctuaries heavy duty pick up truck. The use of the truck is instrumental to haul the numerous bags of trash filled by Jim and other volunteers, car tires and odd discarded household items to the Amenia Solid Waste Transfer Station. This year Jim’s right hand man for the day was 12 year old Millerton, NY resident Sevrin Sarachek.
