May 19th, 2012
A Peace Pole planting took place by Girl Scout Cadet Troop 3029 of Powhatan, Virginia, on May 15, 2012.
The girls white stained a pole donated by RC Goodwyn & sons (a local lumber company) and nailed on plates, bearing the message, “May Peace Prevail On Earth” in English, Spanish, Hebrew, French, Japanese, Chinese, German, Korean and Braille.
They chose May 19th for the dedication ceremony in honor of Armed Forces Day, a community of people who are also wishing for World Peace.
Included in our Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony was a half-mile of pinwheels for the peace presentation, 1000 peace cranes hand-made and shipped to Japan, painted peace rocks and a peace walk enjoyed by 100 Scouts and family members.
MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH!
Wishing World Peace,
Laura Baltz & girls of Troop 3029
